Who is a Vegan?

Vegan is a higher version of vegetarian. Vegetarians are people who avoid animal meat, fish or poultry but there there are lots of chaos in the people who actually follow these tittles, like some are still confused whether egg is a living being because it is not alive yet. So they okay eggs to be a part of the vegetarian diet, or even termed it eggitarian. Well, by the way, who said the egg is not alive? It is not born yet, but growing. Well, i certainly do not want to get into debates about food choices because that is not what this website is trying to offer.  We are talking more on perspectives of an awakened consciousness and this certainly is for people who are in the transition,

Well, then many who started becoming more conscious of the living they are knowingly or unknowingly harming, they decided to call off even all kind of products made from animals and use only plant based foods. So, they became vegans.

A passing fad or meaningful choice?

Well, it may look like a fad because we are conditioned in looking at every new happening thing as a fad. Well, even if people may get into becoming a vegan even as a fad, it will good do eventually only. It will certainly contribute to one less person who is directly or indirectly involved in harming a living being. And that does matter, a great deal!

But from my point of view, i don’t really see it as a fad, because a fad is more influenced by comfort, pleasure, etc and vegan might not really be a happy thing for a person who has been eating meat. It is rather a suffering for one who does it by force. So, it is more happening when people are awakening consciously because then they become more conscious of every act that they do. They become aware of how they influence the world they live in and how the law of karma operates.

So, vegan is real, very, very real and is the proof that the planet’s humans are evolving.

Vegans avoid the following in their regular diet:

  1. Meat: Beef, lamb, pork, veal, horse, organ meat, wild meat, etc.
  2. Poultry: Chicken, turkey, goose, duck, quail, etc.
  3. Fish and seafood: All types of fish, anchovies, shrimp, squid, scallops, calamari, mussels, crab, lobster and fish sauce.
  4. Dairy: Milk, yogurt, cheese, butter, cream, ice cream, etc.
  5. Eggs: From chickens, quails, ostriches and fish.
  6. Bee products: Honey, bee pollen, royal jelly, etc.

Now, this is a just a small list because Vegans who are damn serious go very deep avoid anything and everything that comes from any animal, bird or insect. Like, even bread products as they may contain the softening agent called L-cysteine. that comes from poultry feathers. They can avoid candies, marshmallows, chewing gum, etc as they contain a substance called carmine that is made from chochineal insects. Even french fries can be avoided as it is friend in animal fat, or even any other deep-fried foods. Refined sugar is avoided because it contains cattle bones. Certain pastas are avoided because they contain eggs. Even to the extent that certain fruits can be avoided as they are coated with wax, which is made out of bee-hives.

Now, you may say this is heights. Yes, it is! The heights of consciousness.

However, i am not dwelling too much into the hardcore part of it, because not always all may have the time, patience and affordability to go into such depths. But what we are speaking her today is about being aware of how we are directly or indirectly affecting other living beings and how we even passively partake in their killings too. Vegans are people who are conscious not just about the food but also about the other products they use, like clothes, shoes, bags, cosmetics, etc – ensuring that no animal, bird or insect was harmed in the produce of these products.

What is going to happen with people quitting meat or animal products.

Well, frankly speaking, a lot!

Firstly, it will play a great role in reducing and even bringing a stop to animal killing. Remember, everything is the play of demand and supply. Where there is a demand, there is a supply. Demand comes from mine and yours’ wants and needs.

Secondly, it will contribute to human health and wellness because they would finally shed the dead food that is not really conducive to the human body and that which does bring disease and death. You can study the internet on how health is affected by eating meat.

It so happened, that i recently shared a few conscience-piercing photographs on the social media. i shared it because many were very unconscious about what is love and peace about. Many feel they were great animal lovers and hated anything to happen to their pet animals but on the other hand ate animal meat. Contradictory right? Many believe that they are peace lovers, while they had meat on their plate, which if focussed for a while in awareness could show the amount of cruelty and suffering that animal must have gone through to reach your plate. Cruelty and killing is sheer violence. So did they say or believe that they were peace lovers?

But then, these posts were shared by multiple people and then after a day, one of my old student who had forwarded that post on NOT EATING ANIMALS, received some angry responses. So, he wrote to me, “Sir, I had an argument with one of my colleagues. He said animals are living beings and so are plants. Whether you are vegetarian or non-vegetarian, you are harming living beings anyway. How do I explain with that?”

i made a detailed explanation to him. which i have created as another post.
